Hitched in the Desert

We love working with couples to create their perfect wedding and when we met Anisha and Donovan we were thrilled to be a part of their big day. Recent transplants from New York City they wanted to provide a beautiful backdrop for their wedding and what better place to do that then in Palm Springs. Sourcing the Venue wasn’t hard as INDIAN WELLS COUNTRY CLUB provides all the charm of “Old Palm Springs” combined with natural and beautiful landscape.

We worked with the couple to secure all their vendors and guide them through their design choices as well as organize the whole event. Turning to the brides Indian roots we settled on a bright palette of Wild Beet and White with hints of gold all with the help from ARTISAN EVENTS amazing florals. The grooms Creole background shined through in the cuisine which was Gumbo and Crayfish.

The couple, who are highly creative, love movies so “Hitched in the Desert” become their “movie” name and movies became an underlying theme throughout the whole wedding. Their Save the Date was designed as a movie poster, escort cards were movie tickets and the photobooth, courtesy of SMILEBOOTH, was their own personal red carpet complete with the gold statue himself, Oscar.

Grammy Week

We love learning about new bands over here at CC Events so we were thrilled when one of our favorite clients PANDORA asked us to be a part of their Grammy Week activation. As you can imagine rounding up bands to be involved in events during Grammy Week can be quite the task but Pandora nailed it when they signed on Hiatus Kaiyote. Nominated for Best R+B Performance this quartet from Australia have soulful lyrics and powerful tunes. CC Events was blown away when we saw them perform live.

Gaining massive popularity, due in part to their Grammy nod, the lines started forming at 3:30pm even though doors didn’t open until 7pm. To show our appreciation we allowed the first ten in line to come and meet the band and take pictures before the doors were officially opened. The fans were stoked and that made us really happy.

The performance went on without a hitch and can we also comment on how cool and nice the members of Hiatus were! We loved them…..and we love working with Pandora!

99 Problems BUT Jay-Z ain’t one

CC Events was honored to be asked to host Jay-Z’s Magna Carter crew for a night of cocktails and dreams. His “roadies” as they are often referenced, are on the road for most of the year traveling from city to city setting up and striking sets and stages for the mega superstar.

The whole crew was in LA in December for Jay’s Staples Center concert and they had 1 day off!!! Here is where CC Events jumped in. Hosting them in an art gallery turned music venue in Hollywood the crew of 70 were shuttled in from their hotel and treated to good music, passed food courtesy of BITE CATERING and tons of cocktails.

Lets just say Queen B Beyonce didn’t make an appearance but there were plenty of Independent Women (and men) dancing into the wee hours.

Soho Loft Dinner

Sonos Exhibition "Play - A Visual Music Experience"

We worked a client who wanted to host a 70 person sit-down dinner in a 10,000 sq ft loft in Soho in NYC to kick off the launch of their newest product for select VIPs which included media, musicians and industry power people. We had a few short weeks to put it all together and had to work around the overall event production that was going on around us. The space was  gorgeous with lots of light and clearly a lot of space. The overall space was designed to look like a home that was dressed in all white. White walls, white furniture, white EVERYTHING. We stayed with that aesthetic and worked with Green Room Rentals to source amazing white acrylic chairs and parsons dining room tables. Our dinner space was conveniently located in the “dining room” of the event space, which worked out perfectly.

We worked with catering powerhouse Peter Callahan and let me tell you, what a dream they are to work with and their food is beyond amazing. The night kicked off with passed hors d’oeuvres which led into a scrumptious dinner of heirloom tomato salad, halibut and finished off with a mixed desert plate of berry ice cream and chocolate mouse cake! Yummo

CC Events even got a great mention in Biz Bash for the evenings dinner set-up and curation. Check it out below!

Electric Lady

Under a starry night in NYC at Pier 84 over 700 guests attended a very special event curated by Target, Cover Girl and Sonos during NYFW to launch the much coveted new album The Electric Lady from artistic powerhouse Janelle Monae. CC Events kept things on track while focusing on all those perfect details in collaboration with production company Mother New York.

The large red and white ship docked at the pier doubled as the UBER VIP area and Pirate Radio location where TUNE IN aired the performance live. Cover Girl erected a kissing wall where guests were given the signature Janelle Monae lipstick “Hot Passion” and asked to “kiss” the wall. Sonos created the “Electric Jukebox” where guests were invited to load a song to the playlist where it would be blasted through over 30 speakers. The overall event boasted numerous drink and desert bars but one theme remained the same, it was all about the music.

The concert kicked off in high gear when former MTV VJ and current VH1 star La La Anthony introduced the album’s EP Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. Janelle bounded on to the stage from the Pirate Radio boat sporting her signature black and white style and famous pompadour. The tight six-piece band and back-up singers then launched into the beginning of the nearly 45 minute set that featured songs from her new album as well as guest appearances by noted rapper Big Boi. The crowd that surrounded her were treated to her infectious energy that included impromptu dance parties featuring Diddy, Big Boi and her crowd surfing.
